Job Summary

To fully ensure that machines are maintained always and smoothly running to avoid any disruption in production.

Job Details

The Maintenance Technician shall be responsible for:

  • Responsible for the safe maintenance, repair and replacement of plant equipment to ensure maximum productivity and quality in the plant.
  • Service and repair production equipment (Krones lines), air compressors, generators, chillers, various pumps etc.
  • Constantly check machinery during production to ensure smooth operation and for any unusual sounds.
  • Assist in plant conversions and installations.
  • Responsible for ensuring the CLIT is ongoing as per schedule.
  • Review downtime reports on daily basis and do the corrective and preventive action before it leads to major downtime to minimize unplanned downtime and identify opportunities for improvement.   
  • Ensure and implement the food safety regulations throughout the plant through preventive maintenance.
  • Undertake thorough maintenance of assigned machine during maintenance and staggered maintenance days to ensure machine is in good condition and operates smoothly for production.
  • Report on the requirement of spare parts.
  • Responsible for being punctual and complying with GMP, Safety regulations and fulfill all the company and legal regulations.
  • Responsible to complete the PMS on time in annual basis.
  • Responsible to maintain the history of the lines.

Requirements

Skills and Attributes Required:

  • Knowledge of food safety & quality management systems (IS0 9001, ISO 2200)
  • Ability to work in a team and adapt to change. 
  • Good interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills.  
  • Literacy in Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Strong troubleshooting skills. 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • A conscious SAFETY champion at all levels of operation.

 

Qualification:

      • HND or degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related 

      • 3 years post national service relevant experience 

      • An exposure to an FMCG manufacturing a plus
