Job Summary

The HSE Officer will be responsible for implementing and monitoring the company's health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures. The role involves identifying potential hazards, conducting safety inspections, training employees on safety protocols, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Job Details

The HSE Officer shall be responsible for:

  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Implement health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures in line with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide training to employees on safety procedures, emergency response, and environmental practices.
  • Respond to emergency situation and liaise with emergency responders.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety and environmental programs and initiatives.
  • Maintain records and documentation related to health, safety, and environmental activities.
  • Collaborate with other departments to promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in HSE management.
  • Undertake environmental and occupational health monitoring. 

Requirements

Skills and Attributes Required:

  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
  • Knowledge of ISO management systems (ISO45001, 14001).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to conduct safety training and presentations.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills 
  • Diversity oriented; ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Excellent time management skills
  • A conscious SAFETY champion at all levels of operation.

 

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, or related.
  • Proven experience as an HSE Officer or similar role in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the beverage industry.
  • Professional certification is an added advantage
