Job Summary
The Plant Protection (Security) Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all facilities, its employees, visitors, and assets. This role involves monitoring the premises, controlling access, responding to emergencies, and enforcing the company's security policies and procedures.
Job Details
The Plant Protection (Security) Guard shall be responsible for:
1. Access Control:
• Monitor and control access to the facility by verifying the identification of employees, visitors, and contractors.
• Ensure that all visitors are properly signed in and escorted by a designated host.
• Enforce the company’s visitor policy, including requiring visitors to wear high-visibility vests and be accompanied at all times.
• Prevent unauthorized access to restricted areas within the facility.
2. Patrol and Asset Protection:
• Conduct regular patrols of the facility, including the perimeter, parking lots, warehouses, and other key areas, to detect and deter any suspicious activities.
• Ensure that all doors, windows, and gates are securely locked after hours.
• Monitor and safeguard company assets, including raw materials, finished products, and equipment, against theft, vandalism, and other risks.
• Ensure that all products leaving the facility are properly documented and authorized.
• Check vehicles and personnel for unauthorized removal of company property.
• Enforce the company’s security policies.
• Ensure that all employees and visitors comply with safety and security protocols, such as wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Prevent and address any breaches of conduct, such as unauthorized access, theft, or unsafe behaviors.
3. Incident Response and Reporting:
• Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms, and emergencies, following established procedures.
• Report any suspicious activities, security breaches, or safety hazards to the Security Supervisor immediately.
• Assist in emergency situations, such as evacuations, medical emergencies, or fire alarms, by following the facility’s emergency response plan.
• Prepare and submit detailed incident reports to the Security Supervisor, documenting any security-related issues or incidents.
4. Record Keeping:
• Maintain accurate records of all security activities, including visitor logs, patrol logs, and incident reports.
• Ensure that all security documentation is completed accurately and submitted on time.
• Count products on pallets during inspections to ensure accuracy and prevent theft or loss.
5. Customer Service:
• Provide a courteous and professional presence at the facility’s entrances, greeting employees and visitors and answering any questions they may have.
• Assist employees and visitors with directions or information about the facility.
• Address any complaints or concerns in a calm and professional manner.
Requirements
Skills and Attributes Required:
- Good communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interact with people with diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work extra hours as may be required.
- Analytical and the ability to think on his/her feet.
- Strong observational skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
- A conscious SAFETY champion at all levels of operation.
Qualification:
- Education: Senior High School Certificate or equivalent.
- Experience: Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is preferred but not required.
